Recently I have implemented a site using Phpnuke trying to realize it completely multilanguage.
I think would be necessary a system to translate category and topic too.
Now if you want to insert a topic traslated in 4 languages you have to write 4 different topics (or categories). But I think it ins't an efficient way because the topics would be unlinked, them would appear as different topics, not as one translated.
I suggest a system like Kalender module for example, where every topic can be translated in other languages and the table of DB mantain the relation.
In this way, changeing the languages of the site would change the topics (and the categories) too and every user would be able to understand every topic.
