Hi all.

Most nukers both new and old alike, me included, like to expand their standard version of nuke. Spending many weeks searching for mods, downloading addons, editing core files and fixing many bugs/problems they have with the extras. Oh wouldn't it be good to have it all done for us.

Well I have decided to put such a package together and I have published the beta version at http://testbed1.bonusnuke.com.

Most of you will recognised the layout immediately as the guys here at metopen have kindly given me permission to use their modules. Which I am very impressed with.

Project Details.

I am working on many more inclusions. Thanks for the originators of the above who have granted me permission to include their scripts.

Themes modded to work with above and supplied (original themes have been removed).
Aeolus, Airhead, Blueshine*, Boys, Coldsteel, DAJ Glass, Eos, Fiapple, Fission, Fisubgreen, Fisubice, ICGstation, Jenova, Kdm2, MStrenches, Notebored, Spacepilot3k, SubBlack3dBlue, SubSystemGreen, VereorCars and XPMidnight.

I can supply any theme from nukemods.com (I have permission) and will convert any theme from others if permission granted.

*uses default subsilver forum theme.

Its not ready for general release yet but fellow developers along with myself will test and debug and add to it further. I will then make it available to all. I hope it will be sometime in January.

Appeal
I am still looking for more developers, graphic artists and testers to join me to help in producing this Nuke. You are all welcome to come and have a look around it, and more than welcome to join me in working on this project.

Regards

Martyn.

I do not wish to rain on the parade, but have you any idea how many extra sql queries you are creating adding all that lot in?
Particularly with the forums.

I would be interested in any server resource usage data you with 'before' and 'after'.

FYI... most vanilla packages don't attract many visitors.

Visitors like addons and there is a difference between having a moderately modified forum and an extensively modified forum. Believe me there are a lot more forum mods that may be added to this package by the end user if they choose.

I've worked with sites that were vanilla and sites that have far more forum mods than BN ... you have to find a happy medium that works for the site and suits your own needs.

If I were you, I'd keep an eye on the developments in the Nuke Community over the next several months as there are a lot of projects in the works that will surprise you.
