On my site www.RichardWing.com you will see that I added the Home page module and it appears to be working fine.....

However awhile back I had added a news module that added a few other capabilities that the standard news didnt offer....

Things like pdf version of the article ... bookmark the article and so on... you can see these in the bottom of the article when you access the news module... http://www.richardwing.com/modules.php?name=News

However when the same article is in view through the home page module my users dont get the same options.

I was wondering if you could add in calls to the same features that the news module offers and make it so they are available from your home page module.

This news module is located here http://www.richardwing.com/News.zip

Im not that good to attempt to do this on my own.

Any help in this would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry about that....

Please redownload the news zip file I have included everything now.

Also I am uploading a Google News script that is really nice and would be cool if we could add these into the home page module....

You can see on my home page 3 of the 6 possible google news topics that we could add into the home page module.

You can get the google news module from herehttp://www.richardwing.com/Googlenews_0.3_rc1.zip

Thanks and I look forward to your new improvements and additions to your great module.

Another comment about google news module....

You will notice that their is a module admin to select if you want to include images with the articles and how many articles are pulled for that category.

then you are to go to the blocks or center blocks admin and choose the google news blocks that you want and where they go....

My thoughts were to still use the google news admin to configure for imagaes and article amounts but have the home page module use those configuration settings for the home page module... Then we wouldnt need to go to add a block as the home page module will in essence be placing the google news onto the page like a block anyways.

we would just need a way or place to turn on or off the different google news topics for use in the home page module.

Lots of great posibilities .

I love your module.

That news hack is lorkans add on isnt it ? If it is, i love those extras he offers to the news. It was also built into Platinum and I-Nuke. I miss the FNA module now that i am going back to a base nuke site, but am glad that i amm getting away from those branch offs.

I see that you installed the news hack on your site that I recommended. Any news on when the features of that news hack will be added into a public release of the Homepage Module?

Sure would love to have those news hack features available in your module.

I love your module.

Thank you. Feel free to submit a testimonial

I added the pdf part of the news hack. It will be available in the next version, that you see previewed on this site (and http://www.jewcentral.com). It will be available probably next week. But i make no promises of delivery dates...

The hotspots feature may help you get the google news how you suggest.

Hotspots give you the ability to put text or blocks in specific spots in your home page...

This will be great... I look forward to it... i noticed you also added the print friendly feature from the news hack as well...

Will the hompage module work like the one on jewcentral where you have the bookmark article , pdf, printer friendly , and refer a friend features?

On a side note can you tell me what you use for the short urls, search engine friendly urls on your sites?
