One issue with using PHPnuke for businesss sites is that most of the available themes are for gaming or personal site.

Here are some other issues:
*Themes are too generic- blocks on both sides of the page dont look professional.
* nice images on them that aren't transferable to everyone's business or text must be changed (with no source image files included).
*large images that take up a lot of space.

Can anyone recommend some good corporate themes?

Here's some samples of what we are referring to:
* http://www.themechooser.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&album=1&cat=0&pos=0
The top part of that site stays on every single page. For people with smaller screens that covers most of it up. But it is very nice looking.

(we dont point them out because we dont like it, we point it out because it has potential but isn't perfect)

Hi Tony,

Someone referred us to Autothemes: http://www.autothemes.com/

They offer many themes (including some for free) that are PHPNuke, Postnuke and envolution compatible.

Their themes look clean, crisp and well designed, but some also fall into the "large header" trap and most still look like standard nuke sites.

We haven't used them yet so we cant vouch for them.

I bought Autotheme a few months ago - but I found it was just too complicated to try and learn.

The problem is that once you get an established site and you start servicing clients then you have less time for development, so there has to be a crossover period where you start to make enough money to pay a developer to do the grunt work for you.

At some point, if you are hiring a developer to do the work, he can just make you a completely customized theme. Smile

The most important asset any business has is time.

Ultimately it's better to stick with what you have and be on the lookout for something that fits better rather than play around with it.

To the contrary, my friends. Working business sites using PHP-Nuke 7.7.3.0c.

I find that staying on message with a production site, is your most valuable strategy. Not getting bogged down in code distration, if you know what I mean.

Another example of creative admin and management. http://loftplace.net This client requested what he refered to as a "Leasing Center", to represent his many properties peppered about greater metropolitan Detroit. Progressing the interview forward, I got it! He wanted the perception of a service offering various properties for lease (a concept not un-tried), only it would actually be all his properties.

Our filter for doing business is, Affordable, Professional Website Mangement and Administration. Having the lastest version of NukeC already in our stable of tools, made the right choice as our foundation for his "Leasing Center". We merely re-worked the language files, a few cosmetic changes and all on the project agreed that it was clean.

Those are nice sites. But what i was referring to is the non-block format for sites. You can easily tell it is a nuke site.

Also for "leasing centers" you may want to use the associates module and showcase module- i believe they are both by ibdeeming.com

Yes, but step out of yourself for a moment. We see it all the time, sometimes breeding contempt. Listen, the truth is, most folks do not yet have a clue what PHP-Nuke is. What I am saying is, go Mambo! No, just kidding! Seriously, there is a whole lot of money out there to be made deploying, configuring and administering websites. My thinking is, move ahead with what works, using other peoples money to advance the technology and have lots of fun doing it.

Anyway, do not forget to login at my site and add, both your sites if you wish, to my Supporters.

I have logged in and added my site as a supporter.

I'm not saying there's something wrong with phpnuke sites- all i'm saying is the look doesn't fit for all occasions.

For example look at http://www.ibm.com/us/ (i randomly chose them because they're a big business). there are no left or right blocks on the first page. then when you go into sections there are left and or right blocks as appropriate- and they are catered to the specific section.
